NetWitness Corporation has been awarded an enterprise-level contract with a key U.S. Federal agency for deployment of NetWitness infrastructure appliances across the entire organization’s Internet gateways.
HERNDON, VA – September 8, 2008 – NetWitness Corporation, the leading provider of next generation network security monitoring and active threat intelligence software, announced today that it has been awarded an enterprise-level contract with a key U.S. Federal agency during Q3 2008. This sale of NetWitness’ flagship NextGen™ v8.5 software product includes NetWitness infrastructure appliances deployed to provide substantial full packet capture and session analysis capabilities across the entire organization’s Internet gateways.
Multiple NetWitness NextGen applications leverage this infrastructure for a variety of purposes. NetWitness Investigator is being used by the agency to shorten the time from threat identification to resolution and to augment the visibility of current security solutions. NetWitness Informer is enabling the agency to obtain real-time visibility into state-sponsored advanced threats and is helping to identify complex data leakage and designer malware challenges. The deployment is an integral part of the agency’s Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) initiative providing automated full packet inspection and advanced application content analysis including review of secure sockets layer (SSL) encrypted content.
